The inner workings of a website
There was a time, WAY back in the 90’s when I was considered fairly computer literate. I’m talking back before there was even a WWW streaming through all the world…
It seems, however, thats somewhere between 1992 and 2013 I lost my way. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a compete noob (amazingly there are people out there who still ask me for computer advice), it’s just that it has all become so overwhelming and technical…
Apparently I’ve been taking my computer knowledge for granted, thought it was kinda like riding a bike, never to be forgotten…. turns out I was wrong-o!
So here I am, muddling around with word-press. Got some help with a super cool Theme from my friend Vera over at Your Creative Biz. And I was so excited about creating a website, then suddenly my mind goes blank… and the funny thing is, I can look at websites out there and give all sorts of critique, figuring that the reason it wasn’t as slick as I thought it should be was because the author got lazy or just couldn’t be bothered. Well, the shoe is on the other foot now! Here I am, behind the computer trying to think of content for the site, plus images, plus the message I wish to convey,… oh, and don’t forget.. it’s GOT to be pretty too! The layout has to look nice, links need to work. Columns need to line up, pictures need to be edited. the list goes on… and on… and on…..
So bottom line, I’m sorry to all those fellow business people for my blatant assumptions!
Now, if only I could figure out how to change my fonts….
